Join us at CAE to explore the biographies and works of the icons of the modern art world - Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and more. This lecture series will focus on the masters of the modern art world of the 20th Century and consider ideas that contributed to the development and rejection of later art movements such as cubism, surrealism, pop art and minimalism. The final classes will be spent at the Denver Art Museum and the Clifford Still Museum touring the exhibits "Modern Masters: 20th Century Icons from the Albright-Knox Art Gallery" and "1959" which recreates Still's Landmark exhibition held at the Albright-Knox in the fall of 1959.
