Pastor Rita serves as the Pastor for Risen Lord Lutheran Church and as the chaplain for SAFER Opportunities, a shelter in the Denver area. A self-proclaimed Bible nerd, Pastor Rita loves to unravel our strange and sacred scripture and reveal the abiding love of God. Called to a vocation of service, before being called the Pastor for Risen Lord, Pastor Rita served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, West Africa, where she aided in introducing sustainable agriculture practices. Pastor Rita lives with her husband Matthew and their two dogs, Jellybean and Peanut. When not working on church things, Pastor Rita can be found either out hiking in the mountains, working in the garden, or curled up reading a good book.
