Position: Park County Client Advocate
Reports to: Lead Advocate
Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Hourly
Compensation: $24-25.50/hour
Benefits: Eligible for benefits including pro-rated vacation and sick time off with pay
Hours: 32 hours/week, flexible with some evening and weekend hours required
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the community? PeaceWorks, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Park County Client Advocate to join our team. In this role, you will provide direct support to victims of domestic violence (DV), sexual assault, stalking, and other relationship violence. You will also play a crucial part in strengthening partnerships and participating in the Park County multi-disciplinary team to streamline and coordinate DV services.

Your Role:
As a Park County Client Advocate, you will support the daily operations and services of the PeaceWorks, Inc. and SafePets programs. Your responsibilities will include crisis intervention, case management, and ensuring the safety and security of shelter residents and non-residential clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent PeaceWorks at bi-weekly DVRT (Domestic Violence Response Team) meetings.
- Act as the main contact for activities between PeaceWorks and the DVRT.
- Provide crisis intervention, safety assessments, information, referrals, and assist with devising safety plans.
- Complete assessments and intakes for individuals seeking access to Mountain Peace Shelter.
- Ensure clients receive information about Victims’ Rights, Victim Compensation, and emergency shelter access.
- Provide case management, safety planning, emergency counseling, client transportation, and advocacy.
- Coordinate client access to various services, including legal assistance, public services, and counseling.
- Accompany shelter clients to court and assist them in understanding the criminal justice system.
- Respond to urgent and emergency situations as needed.
- Assist clients in setting and achieving realistic goals related to housing, education, employment, and more.
- Facilitate house meetings, fire and evacuation drills, and shelter safety orientation.
- Document and submit data related to client interactions and goal progress.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the shelter environment.
- Perform minor facility repairs and general upkeep of the shelter facilities and grounds.
- Train and collaborate with other Client Advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, women's studies, psychology, sociology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in crisis intervention and services for domestic violence survivors preferred.
- Experience in residential settings preferred.
- A minimum of 20 domestic violence training hours and 30 sexual assault training hours (provided by PeaceWorks).
- Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and intimate partner violence.
- Ability to learn about Federal and Colorado regulations protecting victims.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online applications.
- Strong advocacy, communication, and organizational skills.
- CPR and First Aid certifications (will be provided by PeaceWorks).
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and appropriate insurance.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Ability to transport clients to appointments.
- Must pass a TRAILS and Criminal Background check.
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily conducted at PeaceWorks, Inc. and/or the Administrative offices in Conifer.
- Some work and meetings may occur at off-site locations.
