About Bootstraps - Founded in 1945, Bootstraps, Inc. empowers the educational and career dreams of mountain-
area students in partnership with our community. We provide scholarships, interest-free loans, career training support, and ongoing encouragement to students from Clear Creek, Conifer, Evergreen, and Platte Canyon High Schools.
 
The Opportunity - Bootstraps seeks a relationship-driven, community-centered Executive Director to lead the
organization into its next chapter of sustainability and impact. This is a hands-on leadership role in a lean environment. The Executive Director serves as the public face of the organization, leads fundraising efforts, ensures fiscal discipline, and strengthens operational systems while
preserving the deep community trust built over eight decades.
 
A Few Key Responsibilities Include:
• Cultivate and steward donors
• Support events and annual appeals
• Oversee budget performance and financial sustainability
• Supervise staff and foster a positive culture
• Oversee scholarship and loan programs
• Partner closely with the Board of Directors
• Maintain strong relationships with schools, donors, and community partners

• Relationship-driven and visible in the community
• Comfortable making direct fundraising asks
• Financially responsible and operationally disciplined
• Self-directed, adaptable, and collaborative
• Passionate about education and student opportunity
• Transparent, high integrity, and mission-driven
• Comfortable working in a small, resource-limited environment
 
Qualifications
• Nonprofit or comparable community leadership experience
• Demonstrated fundraising experience (required)
• Budget oversight experience (required)
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Experience in education or scholarship administration (valued)
• Familiarity with mountain-area communities (a plus)
