Make plans now to attend the Annual Running of the Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice Benefit Gala on Saturday, March 2, 2019. This year’s theme is “Off to the Races” and attendees are encouraged to wear race-day attire. They can dress as a jockey, groom themselves as a stable hand, or wear their derby best. We’ll be galloping out of the gates at 5:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Canyon Club (24933 Clubhouse Circle, Golden).
 
The evening includes an unforgettable dinner, silent and live auctions, and dancing to the sound of Evergreen’s best-loved band, Tunisia. Tickets, which are $100 per person ¦$1,000 per table of 10 ¦$800 per table of 8 are on sale now; purchase online at www.MountEvans.org/offtotheraces.
 
Everyone who attends “Off to the Races” will finish a champion, and the whole community will win. About 20 percent of Mount Evans’ clients are uninsured or under-insured. Many health providers simply won’t accept Medicaid patients, and many others strictly ration access. Although Mount Evans also loses money on these patients; we are committed to never turning anyone away. Charitable giving accounts for 20 percent of the organization’s revenue. Funds raised at the Benefit Gala are critical to our mission of providing the very highest quality home health and hospice services to every soul in our four-county coverage area, regardless of their ability to pay.
 
Proceeds from the event will help Mount Evans care for patients with limited financial resources as well as support numerous community services provided by the agency including grief counseling, transportation for patients to medical appointments, respite for caregivers, and Camp Comfort, a bereavement camp for children.
