Movie in the Grove: Tumbleweeds

Return with us to those thrilling days of yesteryear with famed silent movie cowboy William S. Hart in his final movie, ?Tumbleweeds?. This 1925 classic Western will be shown on Saturday, July 18 at 8:30 P.M. in historic and beautiful Heritage Grove, located at 4208 S. Timbervale Dr., Evergreen CO, next to Hiwan Homestead Museum. This silent classic will be accompanied live by famed pianist Hank Troy. The movie is free and no reservations are required. William S. Hart was one of the original Western movie stars of the early 1900s. After years of starring in Western action movies noted for their gritty realism, he was being upstaged by flashier cowboy stars such as Tom Mix. At the age of 60, he decided to retire from the movies with one last epic film, ?Tumbleweeds?, the story of the great Oklahoma land rush. This free movie is presented by Jefferson County Historical Society and Jefferson County Open Space. Please bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.
