Honoring Max. Strengthening Community. Changing Lives.
Sean Plumb is a dedicated advocate for the Applewood community and an active board member with a deep commitment to local causes. After the heartbreaking loss of his son, Max, to addiction in September 2020, Sean and the Plumb family set out to turn their grief into purpose—helping other families avoid similar tragedy and creating a lasting legacy of hope.
The Max Plumb Memorial Golf Tournament, now in its 6th year, is more than a day on the course. Hosted by the Applewood Community Foundation, this heartfelt event brings neighbors together to uplift youth, support schools, and invest in stronger, healthier communities.
Thanks to generous donors and sponsors, the Foundation has contributed more than $100,000 to Jefferson Center for Mental Health, establishing the Max Plumb Scholarship Fund. Since 2023 the ACF has used funds raised as a match on Colorado Gives Day, which has raised an additional $250,000. These funds directly support the Jefferson Center's client-centered services designed to meet individual mental health, substance use, and wellness needs.
Every swing, every sponsor, every supporter makes a difference—right here in our own backyard.
