Staunton State Park presents Marmot Fest!
Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20th
Guided Marmot Meander Hike, both days, 8:30 am
Hike out early and see the marmots in their natural habitats. Meet near the Group Picnic Area
Marmot Observation Sites - both days, 8:30 and 11 a.m.
Visit sites with nature guides on Staunton Ranch Trail, Climbing Access Trail and at Elk Falls Pond (Hike out on Staunton Ranch Trail).
"All About Marmots" Activities for Children & Families, both days, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Make marmot t-shirts, marmot puppets, and marmot/ predator masks. Explore a marmot habitat, spot marmots with binoculars, solve marmot/predator puzzles and explore skins and skulls. On Staunton Ranch Trail, just past Group Picnic (GPA) parking area.
Self-guided Marmot vs. Dog Challenge - both days, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Along Staunton Ranch Trail.
