Love Our Schools Luncheon recognizes Dr. Cindy Stevenson and the Salazar Family Foundation

The Board of Directors of Jeffco Schools Foundation will present the Norma Anderson Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Cindy Stevenson at its annual “Love Our Schools” fundraising  luncheon on May 5, 2015 at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. The Norma Anderson Award recognizes community members who have dedicated their lives and efforts in support of public education, the Jeffco community and Jeffco Public Schools.
In addition, the Foundation Board will present the newly created Excellence in Philanthropy Award, which reflects the positive and generous contributions of its first honoree, the Salazar Family Foundation.  Since 1999, the Salazar Family Foundation has provided over a million dollars in support to the Jeffco Schools Foundation.  Starting with funding for the reconstruction of Columbine High School library, the Salazar Family Foundation has provided event underwriting; literacy, programs, training and materials; scholarships; after-school and pre-school support; and summer school jump-start and early reading interventions.
The “Love Our Schools” luncheon raises awareness about the work of Jeffco Schools Foundation. While there is no cost to attend, guests are encouraged to contribute to support the Foundation’s work in Jeffco Public Schools. This event is expected to sell-out.
