It's the brassy, bright and promising year of 1959 at the opening night performance of a new musical at Boston's Colonial Theater. Just as the rather bad Western musical adaptation of Robin Hood is reaching its conclusion, the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage. The entire cast and crew are suspects, of course, while a musical theater-loving Detective Cioffi shows up to solve the crime. Can Cioffi solve the case, save the show and get the girl before the curtain rises without getting offed himself?
