Mountain Resource Center is hosting an Active Parenting workshop, which will be held over 3 Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm, on November 7th, 14th, and 21st. This workshop will address practical ways to tackle the challenges of raising children ages 5 through 12 years.
During workshop, you will learn skills that will help you develop cooperation, responsibility and good character in your children. You'll also learn positive discipline techniques so you can avoid those all-too-familiar power struggles. Best of all, you’ll be able to share ideas with other parents who know exactly what you’re going through!
Active Parenting uses entertaining video scenes to demonstrate common parenting challenges and solutions. Each session allows plenty of time for discussion and activities. Topics include: Styles of parenting, mutual respect, "Method of Choice", building cooperation active communication, the “FLAC” method of defusing power struggles and much more.
